” INDIVIDUALLY WE ARE ONE DROP, BUT TOGETHER WE ARE AN OCEAN”
San Juan Water District conducted Capacity Building on May 19-20, 2017 at Dalampasigan Beach Resort barangay Guis-guis, Sariaya, Quezon. This activity was held to be able to strengthen the team cooperation, promote collaboration and support among employees. This is part of the Gender and Development (GAD) plans and projects of SJWD with the following objectives:
- Foster awareness of team spirit
- Reinforce commitment to the team’s shared goals and objectives
- Help develop all elements of teamwork including creativity, communication, trust, problem-solving and time management
- Promote quality time for relaxation and camaraderie
The theme of this year’s Capacity Building is “INDIVIDUALLY WE ARE ONE DROP, BUT TOGETHER WE ARE AN OCEAN“. This means alone we can do so little but together we can do so much, that we are drops of one ocean. Unity does not mean sameness but oneness of purpose. Teamwork makes our dream works and it simply states it is less me and more we.
After completing team building activities together, employees better understand each other’s strengths, weaknesses and interests. This understanding helps them work even better together on future progress vital to the agency.
After any game or workshop the winning team received an award, they celebrate and you can see that they are having fun. This motivates them their want to win even more. This shows that the celebration, cheering and fun that come with every activity can motivates employees to bring their job to the next level.
This is really a fun filled event whereas employees were able to harness the power of effective teamwork and synergy within their own work teams. They became substantially improved individual with higher outputs, greater personal satisfaction and lessen their stress.
